Huge Apple Pie
Our Huge Apple Pie is fully baked, and can be enjoyed chilled, at room temperature or warmed up in the oven. Here’s how to make it delicious:
If you want to enjoy your pie warm and need it right away, it can be heated from frozen in a 300º oven for about 2½ hours.
Baker’s Tip: Check it at the 1½ hour mark and tent it with some foil if the crust is getting too brown.
For better results, thaw the pie in the fridge for about 24 hours (or on your kitchen counter for around 5 hours), then heat it in a 325º oven for about 1 ½ hours.
Baker’s Tip: To keep the flaky crust from getting soggy, remove the wrap before you begin thawing the pie.
Feeling adventurous? Try smoking your Huge Apple Pie! After fully thawing the pie, cover it with foil and place it in your preheated smoker. Smoke for 4 hours at 200 - 225º. For added smoke flavor, smoke uncovered for the first 2 hours.
Baker’s Tip: The most flavorful wood for smoking is a blend of pecan, apple and hickory.
Fruit Pies
Our Fruit Pies can be enjoyed chilled, at room temperature or warmed up in the oven. They’re fully baked. So, for maximum tastiness, here’s what to do:
Need it soon? Remove the wrap and thaw on your counter for about 5 hours.
Want to enjoy it later or slightly chilled? Remove the wrap and leave it in your fridge overnight or for about 8 hours.
If you want to enjoy your pie warm, heat your thawed pie in a 325º oven for 45 to 60 minutes.
Baker’s Tip: Crumb pies heat up faster than double crust pies, and our Fun Size pies get warm faster than our Texas Size pies. So, adjust your time as needed and pull them out when they look bubbly.
Pecan and other Nutty Pies
Our Pecan and other Nutty Pies can be eaten chilled or at room temperature. They’re fully baked, but here’s how to get them ready to devour:
Want it sooner? Remove the wrap and thaw on your counter for about 1 - 2 hours.
Okay with eating it later, or want to enjoy it slightly chilled? Remove the wrap and leave it in your fridge for around 3 - 4 hours.
Pro Tip: After you unwrap the pie, place it back in the box to provide protection while you’re thawing it. This could add 15 minutes or so to the thaw time, but it might prevent a pie-tastrophy!
Custard Pies
Our Custard Pies, like Buttermilk Chess, Heavenly Chocolate and Key Lime, are best enjoyed slightly chilled. We recommend doing this:
For quicker eating, remove the wrap and thaw on the counter for 3 - 4 hours.
For better results, remove the wrap and thaw in your fridge for around 24 hours.
Pro Tip: Keep your pie in the fridge for up to a week. If you still have any left after that, slice it up and refreeze for up to 6 months.
Our Baker's Secrets
-To avoid a mess when you’re warming up your pie, place it on a baking sheet to prevent the juices ending up on your oven floor.
-Don’t want to eat the whole pie at once? After thawing, slice and individually wrap the slices. They can be refrozen or refrigerated. To reheat, just pop in the oven, toaster oven or microwave for a treat anytime!
