Questions
1. How do pies arrive to my location and how are they packaged?
All of our pies will arrive to you fully baked and frozen. Each pie will be shrink-wrapped and individually boxed with 2 boxes in a master case.

2. How big are your pies and how many servings do they provide?
All of our pies are 11" in diameter. Because of this substantially larger size, 10 to 12 servings are the standard and most widely used. 8 servings are great for a shared dessert. And 14 to 20 servings could be used for large events or caterings.

3. What types of restaurants or foodservice applications are best suited for Tootie Pies?
Tootie Pies can serve many applications including: upscale white table cloth settings, family style/casual restaurants, sports bars & grills, coffee shops, catering events, hotels & resorts, specialty shoppes, corporate dining facilities and convention centers. Our pies are individually handmade and baked providing the "made-in-house" quality, but with the ease of thaw and serve. Pastry chefs use Tootie Pies to compliment their dessert offerings because they can meet or exceed their existing quality with complete consistency, while minimizing labor costs and freeing up time.

4. Do I have to bake any of your pies?
No. All of our pies are fully baked. Just cut, thaw and serve. We recommend reheating fruit pies by the slice in a conventional oven or microwave for best results, but it is not essential.

5. What is the best way to store, cut and serve the pies?
We recommend that they be stored in the freezer until ready to cut. You simply remove the shrink wrap, cut the whole pie into desired portions while as near frozen as possible (about 15 minutes after removal from freezer), and leave them in the pan to let them slack before plating. After you have cut the pies, the very best way to thaw them is in the refrigerator overnight. If time or storage doesn’t permit this, simply cut while frozen and allow to slack. The fruit pies and Lemon Velvet will take about 2 hours to thaw; while other flavors will thaw in about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on temperature of environment.

6. What is the shelf life of your pies?
Our pies may be stored up to a week in the refrigerator and up to 180 days in the freezer. Please store all unused Tootie Pies in the cooler at all times once they are cut and slacked. We recommend sealing the pies with plastic wrap or some form of cover to maintain freshness and protect against flavor absorption from other foods.

7. Any Plating ideas or suggestions?
Nothing beats Tootie’s Apple Pie served on a skillet; sizzling with butter and maybe a caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla or cinnamon ice cream on the side. A true table pleaser! Our custard pies go great with a dollop of whip cream on the side and a drizzle that compliments the flavor. Raspberry, caramel or a coffee liquor sauce are some of the most popular. See our "restaurant support" section for more ideas and plating recommendations.

8. Can I get pies directly from Tootie Pie Co.?
We are currently distributed by Ben E. Keith, Sysco, and US Food Services. We would ask you to contact a representative from one of these distributors if you would like to try our pies. If you need help in connecting with our distributors, please feel free to call us at 210.737.6600. Since we do not distribute directly, and we work hard to maintain our relationships with our distributors, we urge you to utilize your existing food service provider for delivery.

9. Can I get any kind of marketing material for my restaurant?
Absolutely. We offer a variety of marketing materials, such as table tents, that we can ship straight to your restaurant. We do all we can to support our valued customers and make Tootie Pies a success for you.
